Choosing Edges
The second step is to choose the edge detail that fits your design goals and the practicality of everyday living. Click on more details below.
There are several factors to consider when choosing the edge detail of your granite countertops. Natural stone never goes out of style because of the natural colors and varieties in pattern and texture. We recommend choosing very simple edges that do not detract from the natural beauty of the stone. Avoid trendy designs as your countertops are a lifetime investment. Stone can be very consistent in hardness and texture, or very inconsistent. Stone with crystals and color variation are typically very grainy (hard and soft material mixed together) and can be very difficult to machine and polish consistently and can produce a wavy or rippled edge. Edges requiring more hand polishing tend to be more rippled. We specialize in simple flat polished edges. They are clean, classic and elegant. Look at samples, not pictures, before making your decision. |
