The following is an actual warranty I copied from the web.  Notice the things you should avoid as these demonstrate the weaknesses of the product.  Pay particular attention to what they call extreme heat.

Care & Maintenance

ROUTINE CARE

Silestone requires very little maintenance. Simply wipe your Silestone surface with soap and warm water on a regular basis to maintain its beauty and shine for years to come.
Regular household cleaners like Windex™ may be used. Silestone Leather may require more daily maintenance to maintain an even tone on its surface. Because of its three-dimensional feel, daily living, such as fingerprints, show more on this texture. To keep looking like new, clean the surface often with soap and water or a low PH cleaner.

DIFFICULT SPILLS

To remove difficult spills, wipe the surface with warm water and soap. If needed, use a common household cleaner. For stains that harden as they dry, such as food and gum, remove by gently scraping off of surface using a blade or putty remover, and then clean using warm water and soap.

CHEMICALS TO AVOID

Avoid exposing your Silestone surface to strong chemicals and solvents. Items to avoid include: permanent markers or inks, oil soaps, cleaners or paint strippers that contain trichlorethane or methylene chloride, and chemicals with high alkaline/PH levels such as oven cleaners.

EXTREME HEAT PROTECTION

Silestone is extremely resistant to heat and can withstand moderately high temperatures for brief periods of time without being damaged. However, we recommend using a trivet or a hot pad to protect your Silestone surface. Although Silestone is heat resistant, keep in mind that all stone surfaces can be damaged by sudden and extreme temperature changes, especially near the edges. Always protect your Silestone surface from extreme temperatures or constant heat, like that of a crock pot or frying pan.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

Although Silestone is extremely scratch, stain and heat resistant, it is not indestructible. Common sense is recommended to keep your beautiful Silestone surfaces looking great always. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about Silestone care.
